First Night was all about food and exploring the local area Lisbon has some for the most amazing seafood, shellfish and cod can be found all over and I had some oxtail braised off the bone….FOOD is DELICIOUS/WINE was DELICIOUS. Will be here again.  Ended up at a Wine Bar after dinner, found it just walking around and decided to stop in, they introduced me to AMARGUINHA– Most amazing and refreshing liqueur, had it on the rocks with a splash of lemon, bought a bottle to take home. A MUST HAVE! Then it was street parties from there on out.

DAY ADVENTURES – Woke up at 1100 to hit the road 

(one of the pros of traveling alone, you’re on your own timetable)

Self-made walking tour, using Google as my guide, if you walk straight without stopping it’s about 30 min

• 1st Destination - Castelo de S. Jorge (Castelo Jorge has some great looks, perfect for seeing the landscape of Lisbon)
• 2nd Destination - Santa Justa Lift (rode the elevator for roughly 6 euros to the top, its on a hill so you get some amazing views.
• 3rd Destination - Padrao dos Descobrimentos (monument that celebrates explorers/adventures)....kindred spirits
• 4th Destination - Belem Tower (16th century explorers, ceremonial gateway to Lisbon)
• 5th Destination - Jeronimos Monastery (one of the most decorative churches in Portugal)....local vendors were set up outside, so I bought some souvenirs.

 Finished the Day with TAPAS at DA PRATA 52------perfect for lite meal before bed

LAST DAY DINNER at Frade dos mares, their CATAPLANA is a Definite must especially for a seafood lover like myself

Finished off the trip with a bottle of with a Portuguese Alambre wine (Moscato like sweet but strong around 17% alc.) and had to stop and grab some gelato before settling in at the AirBnB.
